Ethereum Mining in Windows 10

This is part of our Getting Started series. Welcome to our Ethereum Mining in Windows 10 Guide

Please contact us at or let us know in our Discord Server if you would like us to add a certain miner software instructions.

This miner is free-to-use, however, current developer fee is 1%, every hour the miner mines for 36 seconds for developer. For all 2GB cards and 3GB cards fee is 0%, so on these cards you can mine all ETH forks without devfee, this miner is completely free in this case. Only cards that have more than 3GB memory will be used for devfee mining. Miner displays appropriate messages during startup.

Miner supports all pools that are compatible with Dwarfpool proxy and accept Ethereum wallet address directly.

1. Visit Claymore to download the latest version and Extract the files.

Visit Claymore15.0 on Github

2. Edit your start.bat file to change the settings to mine to your wallet.

Find Start.bat

Sometimes Windows will detect the file as a virus, you can just click on More Info and then Run Anyways. This virus false alarm is because the .bat and .exe file extensions from private and unknown sources are most of the time flagged as a virus.

Editing Start.bat
start.bat not modified.

Now it is time to change the script to use your  information:

  • Add the following code to the top of your start.bat file before the rest of the script if you have AMD graphic cards: [Skip this step if you have NVIDIA]
    setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
    setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
  • -epool will be any ETH pool you would like to mine too.
  • -ewal takes in your ETH wallet address.
  • -epsw is the password, always leave it as x since it is the default.
  • -mode 1 makes your rig focus on mining any ETH fork, in this case we will be mining ETH.
  • -dcri 0 makes your miner avoid trying to automatically set a DCR mining value.
  • -strap 1-6 will be the memory timings. It is best to try to find what works best for you from .
  • -rxboost 1-100 gives your AMD RX series a boost in the hashrate from further optimizations. With RX 480-580 cards, -rxboost 21 worked best for us. [Skip this step if you have NVIDIA]
  • -nofee 1 cancels the developer fee of 1% but it removes optimization features which can reduce hashrate by 3%. It is up to your judgement if you want to include it.
Please review the readme.txt file to help you find what Straps and RxBoost are best for your rig.

3. Miner is now online. Monitor your rig through the pool’s website by entering your wallet address.

Monitor your Rig

To make sure it actually is mining, a small black box (CMD) will open up and will preview the hashrate of each GPU that is connected to the rig and will occasionally output the temperature and watts of the rig. Be advised, the temperature and watts are inaccurate.

Check your Rig balance by visiting the pool website and enter your ETH address your mining too into the proper field.

Additional Information

Pools are abundant, do your research and find what is best for you. Nanopool is a good place to start. If your Pool provides a SSL port, it is recommended to mine using the SSL Port.

These are Nanopool pools. Pick on based on your region.

If you have GPUs that are different from eachother then you are able to set straps for them based on their order. ExampleRX 580s Hynix memory and 1 is a Samsung memory you are able to strap it using strap 2,1,1.
